Adam knows that family disputes are among the most difficult challenges people can face. He gets great satisfaction in helping his clients obtain the best achievable outcomes.
Adam’s career as a lawyer spans more than 30 years. A seasoned litigator and negotiator, he has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, and was a criminal defense lawyer and civil litigator for most of the first two decades of his law career. Since 2005, Adam has focused his law practice on Divorce and Family Law.
Adam is familiar with the heavy emotional and financial toll which litigation can impose. Collaborative law offers a better way to resolve the issues which arise when a relationship breaks down.
Adam is a volunteer instructor with CPLED (Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education), which is the Alberta bar admission course, and has been a Volunteer Lawyer with the YWCA Sheriff King Legal Clinic. Adam has served as a Volunteer Lawyer with Calgary Legal Guidance and Student Legal Assistance at the University of Calgary, Editorial Board Member of the Alberta Law Society Newsletter, Vice-Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Calgary Health Law Subsection, and Member of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta) Task Force on Fault/No Fault Insurance.
As a community volunteer, Adam has served as President of Calgary Jewish Federation, Vice-President of the Calgary Jewish Academy School, and President of Temple B’nai Tikvah Synagogue. He is a regular blood donor, and in 2016 Adam was recognized by Canadian Blood Services for 75 blood donations.
Adam has been a member of the Alberta Law Society since 1987, and is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association.
Adam earned his LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 1986, having previously obtained his B.A. from the University of Alberta in 1980 and his M.A. in English from the University of Toronto in 1982.
