Moosa has practiced law for close to 26 years and as a lawyer has assisted many divorce clients navigate through the legal process. He is firmly of the belief that courts are not meeting the needs of its participants because the system is not designed to deal with disputes that extend over a period of time and which, in some cases, continue even after a final divorce decree is issued. Collaborative Law offers parties a more holistic and a commonsense approach to resolve issues away from the court room. In Collaborative Law, parties work as a team with their respective lawyers to reach a fair and a comprehensive settlement of all their issues. Moosa, who is also a Chartered Mediator, has assisted many clients to resolve their divorce through the Collaborative Law process. Clients in this process have input into the decision-making process and craft settlement agreements that meet with their and their children’s interest. The focus of Moosa’s practice, through his firm SETTELASSIST, is to help clients “bridge the gap” by resolving their issues away from the court-room through the Collaborative Law process.
