| Micia graduated from the University of Alberta law school in 1996, and was admitted to the bar of the Law Society of Alberta in 1997. Micia has practiced primarily in the area of family law since that time. Micia has seen many challenges and changes in the area of family law over the years. There has been an increasing emphasis by the Court in Alberta encouraging parties to utilize alternative dispute resolution processes, including the Collaborative Process. With the anticipated changes in the family law process in January 2026, it will be more important than ever for individuals to find an out of court process to resolve disputes.
Micia is a compassionate and practical “no nonsense” lawyer. Her approach is to dig deeper into what is most important for her clients going through a relationship breakdown – to help them reach some realistic solutions that will allow them to move on with their lives, leaving behind the trauma of ending a relationship. Micia’s goal is to find creative solutions to help clients stay out of the court system in a cost-effective way, and reduce the emotional stressors of separation. |
