35 years ago I decided to pursue a career in law because I felt that practising law would give me greater opportunity to help people in meaningful ways and provide me with direct feedback about whether my help was effective. Practising law has been has been engaging, challenging and rewarding. I have had the opportunity to help people at times when they have significant difficulties and are in great need of help.
I have acquired knowledge and skills that help me provide valuable advice and I have continually upgraded my skills and knowledge through further legal education. I obtained a Masters of Law degree from York University Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution. I am also a Provincial Court Mediator and Child Support Resolution Officer and sessional lecturer at the U of A Law School teaching mediation advocacy. This education and these positions have helped me assess litigation and negotiation strategies and to advise my clients more effectively.
I believe that I have the ability and character to provide valuable legal advice, promote respect for all parties involved in the legal process and help my clients resolve their legal issues.
