I have been assisting individuals and families with resolving issues arising as a result of family breakdowns for over 25 years, primarily in the Edmonton area but also briefly in Long Island, New York. I have been a member of the Law Society of Alberta since 1994, a member of the New York State Bar since 2001 and a Registered Collaborative Family Lawyer since 2015.
My approach to family law is to explore all options for conflict resolution and to assist clients to find the most efficient and cost-effective means of settlement while minimizing conflict and preserving relationships to the extent possible. While litigation is sometimes necessary to the resolution of family disputes, the adversarial litigation process can be expensive and inefficient and often contributes to increased conflict to the detriment of individuals and families. My collaborative family law practice allows me to expand the range of options for resolving disputes. The collaborative family law approach encourages creative solutions which can be custom-designed to meet the unique needs and circumstances of every family affected by separation and divorce.
